Daily Dose
Daily Dose is a neighborhood coffee shop in Southeast Atlanta, created as a sister store to The Merchant and Archer Paper. Though modest in size, the project seeks to create a richly atmospheric interior where coffee, hospitality, and a carefully edited collection of books, cards, candles, and other everyday objects exist in quiet conversation. The design employs a dark backdrop and dramatic lighting to frame both the space and its contents, allowing merchandise, materials, and people to become the focus of the interior. Rather than relying on expressive form, the architecture finds its character in the tactile richness of its finishes: high-gloss brush-painted millwork, blackened steel, handmade tile, and textured surfaces whose subtle imperfections celebrate the beauty of things made by hand. Vintage furnishings and collected objects lend warmth and familiarity to the space, while the architecture remains deliberately restrained, allowing the materials, the coffee, and the life of the café to define the experience.
