Morningside District

Morningside Village is a neighborhood commercial district in Atlanta’s Morningside-Lenox Park neighborhood. Commissioned by 26th Street Partners, Gentle Works led the design, implementation, and procurement of a coordinated series of public realm improvements intended to strengthen the district’s identity while preserving the qualities that have long made it a beloved neighborhood destination. The project brings together lighting, landscaping, paint, murals, signage, furnishings, awnings, and pedestrian improvements into a cohesive framework that enhances the experience of moving through the district. Individually, each intervention is modest. Together, they establish a stronger sense of place while supporting the restaurants, shops, and local businesses that give Morningside Village its character. Working closely with 26th Street Partners, Good Company (branding and marketing), Quenton Colby Studio (paint and mural implementation), and a network of local artists, craftspeople, and fabricators, Gentle Works remained engaged through implementation, coordinating procurement and helping shepherd the project from concept to construction. The result is a collaborative approach to neighborhood improvement rooted in careful design, long-term stewardship, and the existing life of the district.
